BP makes Ian Tyler its permanent chair to end years of leadership disruption
He starts the job immediately and will guide the UK energy giant as it abandons green projects to concentrate on pumping oil. Tyler previously ran the construction firm Balfour Beatty and has worked on the BP board since April 2025. He replaces former boss Albert Manifold, who lost his job in May after just eight months following claims of aggressive behaviour.
