Eighth person dies from flesh-eating bacteria linked to US oysters

Vibrio vulnificus, a flesh-eating bacteria, has caused an eighth death in the US this year. The latest death occurred in Bay County, Florida, adding to five deaths in Louisiana and two others in Florida. One in five people who contract vibriosis die, with symptoms including blistering skin lesions and septic shock.
