Block's Jack Dorsey Cuts 4,000 Jobs Over AI
Last week, Jack Dorsey, CEO of the fintech company Block, revealed intentions to substantially decrease the number of employees. Block is eliminating 4,000 positions, decreasing staff from 10,000 to fewer than 6,000, a 40% cut. Dorsey stated that advances in artificial intelligence tools are the primary reason, fundamentally altering company operations. He believes intelligence tools are quickly improving, enabling smaller groups to achieve greater output.
