Billionaire businessman Gopichand Hinduja passes away at eighty five
Gopichand Hinduja, chairman of the Hinduja Group and the UK's wealthiest individual with a family fortune of £35.3 billion, died Tuesday in London at age 85. Known as GP in business circles, he helped transform his father's textile business into a global conglomerate employing 200,000 people across 11 sectors including banking, energy, and media. Leadership succession of the Mumbai-based empire remains unclear, though his youngest brother Ashok currently runs Indian operations including truck manufacturer Ashok Leyland.
