BBC seeks Trump family records in £7.4bn Panorama defamation lawsuit

The US president is suing the broadcaster for defamation over an edited clip of his speech from January 2021. Lawyers for the BBC claim Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and Jared Kushner hold records that could help their defence. None of the three have received the legal papers yet because they are shielded by the Secret Service, ahead of a trial planned for February 2027.
