Tickets to see the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum for January to March 2027 sold out on Wednesday, after around 180,000 people joined the online queue by lunchtime. The nearly 1,000-year-old embroidery is on loan from France until July. Earlier tickets also sold out fast, and the museum has extended opening hours after complaints about long waits. A final release follows early next year.
