Barcelona ends pursuit of Julian Alvarez, boosting Arsenal's hopes

Barcelona has reportedly stopped trying to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, despite previously offering €100 million (£85 million). Atletico has repeatedly stated that the 26-year-old player will not be sold this summer, even turning down a £130 million offer from Real Madrid in June. As the transfer deadline of September 1 nears, Arsenal continues to show sustained interest in Alvarez.
