Around 6 million homes getting £150 off energy bills this winter

The Warm Home Discount, a one-off £150 cut to energy bills, now reaches about 6 million households, up by 2.3 million on last year. Individuals in receipt of an eligible means-tested benefit, for example, universal credit or pension credit, are no longer required to demonstrate high household running costs. Letters began going out on Thursday and will keep arriving until January 2027.
