Amazon raises Echo and Kindle prices due to memory costs

Amazon has raised the cost of various items in its Echo, Kindle, Fire TV, and Eero ranges; some of these increases are substantial. The company confirmed the increases, blaming rising memory and storage component costs across the consumer electronics industry. For example, the Echo Dot, previously $49.99, is now $79.99, a 60% rise.
