Alcaraz reaches US Open quarter-finals after wrist injury

Carlos Alcaraz, 23, won his fourth-round match against American Tommy Paul 6-4 6-3 6-4 at the US Open on Sunday. The Spaniard, who was absent from the French Open and Wimbledon earlier this summer because of a wrist injury, has conceded only one set in New York. His next opponent will be American eighth seed Ben Shelton in the quarter-finals.
