AI text from Claude is getting invisible watermarks under new EU rules

The hidden markers will even attach to original human writing if people ask the chatbot to proofread or translate their work. Anthropic, the Silicon Valley developer, says the updates take effect globally for its newest systems from 2 August, designed to survive basic copy-and-pasting. However, the company warns that major rewrites can still wipe out the tracker entirely.
