AI Minister's £25k plan to keep British tech firms in the UK
High-growth science and digital businesses can now claim back up to £25,000 a year to cover their overseas hiring bills. Kanishka Narayan, the AI minister in Andy Burnham's cabinet, told the Financial Times he wants to help British start-ups expand locally. But Charles Avens, an immigration expert, warned that expensive sponsorship fees are already pricing smaller businesses out.
