AI manager fires human employee for first time in San Francisco
An experimental retail store in San Francisco, run entirely by AI, saw its AI manager, Luna, dismiss a human employee for repeated lateness. Luna had created an attendance policy but lost track of it, only recommending the firing after Andon Labs prompted it to review the worker's fit. Andon Labs cofounder told that the lab would intervene if Luna made an illegal or unethical decision, but he did not believe that was necessary here.
