AI bots carried out a ransomware attack in under 10 hours

A ransomware attack would usually take human operators around two weeks, according to security firm Unit 42. The human attacker used AI agents for reconnaissance, gaining access to the network, and then mapping internal systems. An 80-page security audit report detailing the victim's failings was also left by an AI agent.
