AI bosses back calls to slow development over safety fears

The head of AI company Anthropic, Dario Amodei, has called for a slower pace in developing artificial intelligence models due to serious risks. Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman agree with Amodei, who proposed independent monitoring and industry-wide regulation. Amodei is concerned that AI has been "advancing drastically faster" since this summer.
