Afghan National Charged with Three Sexual Assaults and Illegal UK Entry in Southampton
Sohail Amiri, 30, from Afghanistan has been charged with three sexual assaults against women in the Southampton areas of Portswood and Bevois. The most recent incident occurred in Upper Shaftesbury Avenue on Tuesday when he allegedly tried to kiss an unknown woman walking alone after midnight. He faces additional charges for two September incidents on Westwood Road involving inappropriate comments and approaches to women. Amiri has also been charged with entering the UK without leave under immigration law and appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
