Ancient supervolcano found under England's east coast

Scientists have found the remains of a huge ancient supervolcano, which erupted 454 million years ago, deep beneath England's east coast. Experts from the British Geological Survey believe the supervolcano explains a vast layer of ash across several European countries. The supervolcano, discovered by re-examining 80-year-old rock samples, is now extinct and poses no future threat.
