Two unvaccinated people die from measles in Pennsylvania

Measles infections in the US have reached 2,777 confirmed cases so far in 2026, marking the highest number in 35 years. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro called the illness and deaths "completely preventable" on Tuesday, urging vaccination with the MMR jab. Lower immunisation rates, due to increasing vaccine hesitancy, are causing the rise in cases.
