MND patient races for life-extending drug not yet funded by NHS

Marc Powell, who has a rare MND variant affecting fewer than 100 UK people, could die within a year while awaiting a treatment. Drug maker Biogen offers Tofersen free, but hospitals must cover administration costs, limiting patient numbers. The health watchdog NICE won't decide on NHS funding until next March, too late for many.
