Neanderthal pelvises suggest childbirth mattered more than walking for evolution

A new study found Neanderthal and human female pelvises were very similar in areas related to birth, challenging a long-held idea. Their pelvic forms differed in walking features, suggesting evolution wasn't mainly a trade-off between childbirth and efficient movement. Instead, researchers contend that the requirement to deliver a baby without compromising the pelvic floor influenced the pelvis's development.
