Imported eggs caused 474 salmonella illnesses and 2 deaths since August 2025
UK authorities have identified two new clusters of salmonella infection, bringing the total number of cases to 474, with two deaths recorded. The UK Health Security Agency says investigations link the illness to imported eggs, with people falling sick after eating out. Most cases have been in England, though some date back to August 2025, and over a third of those affected needed hospital care.
