94-year-old among more than 50 arrested at Palestine Action protest
Merseyside Police arrested more than 50 people on Sunday as over 200 protesters held a silent vigil for the banned group Palestine Action outside Labour's conference in Liverpool. Those held were suspected of carrying items supporting the proscribed group, and a 94-year-old human rights barrister was among them, the BBC reported. Amnesty International called the arrests a shameful attack on free speech.
