Asylum seekers in hotels halved, small boat crossings down 23%

The number of asylum seekers in Home Office accommodation halved to 16,000 in June this year compared to last year. Small boat crossings to the UK also dropped by 23% year-on-year, reflecting similar trends across Europe. The Home Office is closing hotels and moving asylum seekers into larger sites.
