€100bn fighter jet: France, Germany may scrap shared design

Europe could lose part of a key defence project as France and Germany struggle to keep their joint fighter jet plan together. Mediators failed to settle the dispute over the FCAS programme, and reports said building one shared piloted jet may no longer work. Chancellor Friedrich Merz will be briefed before meeting President Emmanuel Macron at an EU summit in Cyprus.
