Chancellor John Healey is preparing to spend more than £1bn helping poorer households with energy bills in this month's Budget, the Guardian reports, after forecasts showed the Iran war could lift the price cap by up to £442 in January. The likely option is boosting the £150 warm home discount by another £100, though he is expected to rebuff calls to scrap green levies altogether.
