Despite stricter visa regulations coming into force in July 2025, over 1,900 small high street businesses, such as car washes and vape shops, retain the ability to sponsor foreign workers. The Home Office scheme was meant for graduate-level employees earning at least £41,700, but many smaller firms remain on the register.
