Ceuta migrants cannot reach mainland Europe, EU Commission confirms
On Friday, the European Commission confirmed no irregular migrants travelled from Ceuta to the European mainland. Ceuta is treated as an external EU border, meaning people without authorisation cannot travel to mainland Spain. Most Moroccan citizens are not eligible for protection and are expected to be returned home.
