Tehran passed on the threat during phone calls between senior officials, hoping Arab leaders will push the American president towards a peace deal. Foreign minister Abbas Araqchi told his Saudi and Qatari opposite numbers that any new American attack will trigger retaliation against their energy networks. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has already spoken to Donald Trump to ask for a ceasefire.
