Farage wins Clacton by-election with 62% of vote
Nigel Farage won the Clacton by-election with 62% of the vote, beating satirical candidate Count Binface who took 9,455 of the 35,401 votes cast. Turnout fell to 44.7%, down 14 points from the 2024 general election. Farage quit his seat to force the contest after failing to register a £5million cryptocurrency donation, a standards investigation that resumes now he has won.
