Qualcomm raising chip prices by double digits from September
Qualcomm informed customers it would implement a price hike of more than 10%, applicable to products dispatched from 1 September. Qualcomm said it has "exhausted its ability to absorb higher costs from suppliers" due to ongoing component shortages. The price increase will likely affect smartphone prices, as Qualcomm's chips power many devices, including Samsung's new foldables.
