Cooler weather reaches parts of UK from Thursday but drought areas remain dry
Some parts of the UK will get cooler weather and a bit of rain from Thursday, as a cold front moves in. However, the driest areas in England and Wales are unlikely to see any rain, with more than half of England officially in drought. Wednesday was the hottest day in over two weeks, reaching 35.2C in Essex.
