Nasdaq 100 enters correction as chip stocks slide 10%
The Nasdaq 100 index has officially entered a correction, falling more than 10% from its early June record high due to a sell-off in AI-related chip stocks. The decline was driven by concerns about high corporate spending on AI and increasing competition from Chinese companies. South Korean chipmakers SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics both fell by over 10% on Tuesday.
