Cardiologist says added sugar, not fat, is silently destroying your heart
A cardiologist with many social media followers warns that added sugar is the main ingredient silently harming hearts. Dr Dmitry Yaranov noted that even active people face a higher risk of heart disease from sugary drinks, according to a 2024 Harvard study. The UK government advises that free sugars should make up no more than 5% of daily calories, or about 30g for adults.
