Pentagon tells defence firms to speed up weapons production
The US military's stockpiles of advanced missile interceptors have shrunk significantly during the five-month conflict with Iran. On Wednesday, Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg instructed industry leaders to submit plans within 21 days for significantly accelerated delivery schedules and heightened production. The push is also meant to inform the fiscal year 2028 budget, which will be submitted to Congress for funding.
