BrewDog founder Watt used 200,000 investor details for new venture.
The Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data watchdog, received complaints after Watt contacted people to promote his new beer venture, Second Best. AlixPartners, the administrators handling the brewery's collapse, confirmed they never authorised him to access the 200,000-person Equity for Punks database. Watt insists he obtained the information lawfully, and says more than 50,000 former backers have already accepted free shares in his new project.
