Under-16s in England banned from buying energy drinks from April
About 100,000 children across England currently drink high-caffeine energy drinks daily, which are associated with physical and mental health issues. The new laws will apply to drinks containing over 150mg of caffeine per litre, but not tea or coffee. Retailers breaking the ban, which starts next April, could face fines of up to £2,500.
