Keir Starmer formally resigned as Prime Minister on Monday, telling the King his work was done and he was leaving with a smile. He gave a final speech outside Downing Street, saying the country was stronger and fairer than when he took office. Starmer then travelled to Buckingham Palace to offer his resignation to the King, who graciously accepted it.
