US Congress calls FIFA boss Infantino to answer Trump ties
The top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, Jamie Raskin, has launched an investigation into FIFA president Gianni Infantino, seeking documents about ties between FIFA and Donald Trump. Raskin's letter also requested Infantino sit for a transcribed interview by 9 August. The investigation follows scrutiny over a "FIFA peace prize" given to Trump and the reversal of a US player's ban after Trump's intervention.
