Who gains most from Shell's war-linked profit?
Shell shareholders gained most, as profit reached almost $10 billion, more than double the same quarter last year. Brent crude climbed from around $73 a barrel past $120 after the US-Israel conflict with Iran disrupted the Strait of Hormuz. Shell also confirmed a fresh $3 billion share buyback, its 19th straight quarter at that level, while first-half profit grew about 70%.
