Europeans can vote on new euro banknote designs.
Europeans can vote because the European Central Bank has opened an online survey, running until 21 September 2026, on ten shortlisted banknote designs. An independent jury of 21 experts chose those finalists from more than 1,200 entries, across two themes, European culture and rivers and birds. The ECB's Governing Council decides around year end, and new notes follow in later years.
