Kenya launches inquiry into 14 elephant deaths

Kenya Wildlife Service has opened an urgent inquiry after 14 elephants were found dead around Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya. The elephants, of varying ages and sexes, were found at several sites, and officials have sent tissue samples for lab testing. KWS spokesman Duncan Wanyama called it the largest such die-off in decades, in an ecosystem with more than 2,000 elephants as of 2025.
