Non-EU nationals in England's social housing would get six months to leave under new Conservative plans, freeing an estimated 228,144 homes for British citizens. Shadow housing spokesman James Cleverly said taxpayers who funded social housing are being pushed to the back of the queue, with non-EU tenants making up 11.3 percent of new lettings in 2025. Labour called the plan unworkable.
