Apple's own spending on AI data centres is straining the chipmaking supply chain it depends on for iPhones and Macs, chief executive Tim Cook said on Apple's earnings call. Mac sales still grew nearly 29% to around 10 billion dollars and iPhone sales rose about 22%, while iPad sales fell nearly 6%. Cook said the chip supply chain 'just fundamentally has less flexibility'.
