Cambridgeshire Constabulary logged 9,000 reports of the banned blood sport in three years, with organisers offering bettors prize money up to £50,000, and one Hampshire case saw 20 hare and rabbit carcasses dumped outside a school. Superintendent Ben Martin said parts of the trade are now run by organised criminal gangs.
