Who is being convicted under Britain's boat law?
Ten people have been sentenced under a law that criminalises piloting a small boat across the Channel, in force since January, the Crown Prosecution Service said. On Friday, Canterbury Crown Court jailed Afghan national Omar Heidari, 34, for two years, and Sudanese teenager Manas Yuk, 18, for eighteen months. Both had arrived by boat in June among scores of other migrants.
