7,000 people sleep in Tokyo Narita airport after 'extremely unusual' rains disrupt rails routes
About 7,000 people slept inside Tokyo's Narita International Airport on Thursday after record rainfall cut off rail and road links. The "extremely unusual" rain, which saw over 360mm fall in 24 hours in parts of Chiba, also killed at least eight people. Emergency workers gave out sleeping bags, water, and food to families in the departure halls.
