Legal & General operating profits rise 7% to £918m over six months
The insurance and investment giant increased its privately managed funds by over 20%, bringing the total value to £79bn. The FTSE 100 company also announced on Wednesday that its pre-tax earnings hit £1,997m, mostly thanks to selling off its American operations. Shareholders are getting a reward too, with the firm upping its interim dividend payout to 6.2p a share.
