London bus drivers strike for 26 days over hot conditions
More than 1,500 bus drivers in north and east London and Essex began 26 days of strikes today over "dangerously hot" working conditions. Unite, the union, says operator Arriva North London has failed to improve conditions, with many buses only having air cooling systems. Drivers have reported temperatures over 40C in their cabs, leading to fears of heat exhaustion.
