18 migrants die trying to reach Spanish enclave Ceuta
At least 18 people drowned while attempting to enter Ceuta from North Africa on Thursday, as 49,000 migrants arrived in the Spanish enclave within 24 hours. Spain sent troops to the border, which is the EU's only land border with Africa, to manage the crisis. The Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, is due to visit Ceuta on Friday morning.
