CMA proposes land rules for Aldi, Lidl joining 7 grocers.
The UK competition regulator wants the two discounters added to an existing order that already covers seven other major grocers. The restriction stops retail companies from using property agreements to prevent competitors from setting up shop close to their sites. Both Aldi, the fourth biggest grocer in Britain, and fifth-placed Lidl said the proposal will not slow their expansion plans.
